To ensure that its product designs conform to international wind turbine standards, Zhejiang Windey turned to TÜV SÜD, whose solid capabilities and international expertise in the area of wind energy certification were well known. Already respected in China for the reliability of its product service competencies, TÜV SÜD’s local China branch also brought its global experience to bear in helping Zhejiang Windey, its first wind turbine client in China, prepare its products for better international access.

To date, TÜV SÜD has been engaged by Zhejiang Windey to conduct the design assessment of its wind turbines. Expected to be completed within 10 months, TÜV SÜD experts will analyse and qualify its wind turbine design, a process that covers a full spectrum of wind turbine elements including a review and examination, together with witness testing of rotor blades, prototype trials of gear boxes, and safety and functional tests. These will be carried out in strict alignment with the GL Guidelines for Wind Turbine Certification, an internationally-accepted regulation for wind turbine type certification.
