Cooperation between CHC and TÜV SÜD in the area of bicycle design, development and certification
12.03.2010
CHC, being a semi-governmental organization, has come a long way in building up a state-of-the-art system for testing of whole bicycles and bicycle parts while providing the industry a low cost but high efficiency testing service. CHC are also involved in active research and development of bicycle product design and are sharing this knowledge with the Taiwan bicycle industry to help them improve the efficiency of their R&D process.
TÜV SÜD Taiwan, a branch of the globally active TÜV SÜD Group, is an independent service provider in the field of product testing, management system auditing and certification. TÜV SÜD Taiwan, being active in Taiwan since 1992, is specifically experienced in the field of safety and quality testing of electrical products (such as IT, office and household equipment) and mechanical products (such as health, sport & exercise equipment, bicycles and hand tools) and can offer worldwide recognized product certificates to help manufacturers when exporting to Europe and other parts of the world. Further, TÜV SÜD Taiwan offers EMC, ergonomic and chemical testing and certification as well as management system auditing and certification according to international standards. The TÜV SÜD Taichung laboratory is the competence center for testing and certification of bicycles and bicycle parts and accessories in the whole region.
CHC and TÜV SÜD Taiwan have already cooperated in the area of bicycle testing for a long time. Following the needs of the market and the challenges in the future, both sides agree in expanding their cooperation scope. While CHC can offer state-of-the-art research, design and product development, TÜV SÜD Taiwan has the competence to evaluate and test latest developments according to international quality and safety requirements. By working close together, CHC and TÜV SÜD Taiwan hope to provide the Taiwan bicycle industry an edge over the competition through faster and more efficient development and testing process (TBC time based competition). Both companies hope to establish a new market and not only create a win-win situation for themselves, but rather a three-win situation for TÜV SÜD Taiwan, CHC and the industry.
The signing ceremony of CHC and TÜV SÜD Taiwan will be held during the “2010 Taipei International Cycle Show” at Taiwan World Trade Center (TWTC) Nangang in booth LL011 stand on the 4th floor from 10:00 to 11:00 on Friday, March 19th, 2010. Representatives from the international media, the industry as well as guests are kindly invited to witness the signing ceremony. Further details regarding the scope of the agreement will be announced to the public by CHC and TÜV SÜD Taiwan following the ceremony.
