On 17-18 Sep. 2009, TÜV SÜD China Chemical Services (TCCS) attended the 4th Annual Process Industry Engineering and Maintenance Congress (abbr. The Congress) organized by JFPS group China in Shanghai Hongqiao Marriott hotel.
The Congress is a high level summit bringing together professionals of the process industry on engineering and maintenance from worldwide renowned companies The Congress is comprises three sections: the exhibition by various professionals and service providers, seminars on key relevant topics and panel discussions. Speakers updated the attending delegates on the Chinese government investment policies, the current engineering management of investment project, the optimization of plant equipments maintenance, new technology applications and the plant safety challenges arising from globalization.
The GCN manager of Chemical Services, Mr. Fred Maury delivered a speech on "The challenges of plant safety in a global operation”. As multinational companies increasingly operate in a global environment, they are facing daunting challenges in order to manage their plant safely whilst ensuring compliance with the numerous and changing regulatory and technical requirements of the various countries in which they operate. Mr. Maury took the examples of Europe, USA, and China describing the difference on safety laws, regulations and codes. And the efforts and practice TÜV SÜD has made on supporting clients to fulfill all these requirements.
Our booth also had lot of visitors. The design of the booth highlighted our ‘one stop services’ concept from basic engineering to decommissioning throughout the plant life-cycle.
Our successful and active participation to The Congress helped enlarge TÜV SÜD Chemical Services influence on engineering and plant maintenance, and boosted the business in voluntary in-service inspection.
