TÜV SÜD Japan achieves ISO 17025 Certification
20.05.2010
The internationally reputable Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF), a signatory to the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), audited TÜV SÜD’s Japan’s Smart Card Laboratory at the end of April 2010. The laboratory successfully passed the audit and is now certified to ISO 17025 for the testing of both contact and contactless terminals according to ISO 7816 and ISO 14443 by TAF.
“This accreditation demonstrates the strong technical competence and strict adherence to quality procedures of our staff. It underlines our leadership in smart card related testing services and adds international recognition to our testing services for private organizations,” explained Klaus Kaehler, Head of the Smart Card Laboratory.
TÜV SÜD Japan offers testing of payment terminals and IC cards, mainly for the financial industry, based on both contact and contactless (NFC) technology. Just recently the laboratory was accredited by EMVCo (a private company hold by American Express, JCB, MasterCard, Visa) for the testing of contactless terminals.
